Christine Johanna Love Obituary

Christine Johanna Love loved the natural earth, and all that God created for us to enjoy. From the mountains to the ocean, from the forests to the sky. She felt a connection to every animal and creature. Enjoyed living off the land, reaping and sowing the fruits and vegetables God provided for us to survive.

Born on November 15, 1957 in Salzburg, Austria began the natural cycle of life for Christine. She was the only child born to Arthur Jensen and Johanna Menzel-Jensen.

She grew up surrounded by the Eastern Alps and the Salzach River. Born to parents that were music instructors at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, she developed a love for classical music. She learned to play numerous instruments over her life but her favorite was the harp. Her first language was German but all the languages she spoke were a footprint of the places she lived including English, Spanish, French and some Portuguese. She became fluent in Spanish when she spent her summers growing up in Majorca, Spain. This is the place where she developed her love for the ocean. There she learned to scuba and free dive. After graduating high school she moved to California to study Biochemistry at the University of Santa Barbara. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, hiking, swimming and diving. She joined the row team, became a certified scuba diver, won a beauty pageant in 1971 and was an aerobics instructor for many years.

After College, her family visited Eleuthera Bahamas to purchase a home. It was there where Christine met Danny Bethel when she wanted to rent a surfing kite at a shop where he worked. They dated, got married and had two beautiful children. Danielle Christine and Micheal Arthur Bethel. While living in the Bahamas, she was an architect and designed many beautiful homes in the Bahamas. The beautiful islands fulfilled her love of the ocean and nature. She felt God’s presence in all that he had created there. She had a strong faith in God and loved him with all her heart.

Her hobbies include traveling, chemistry research, self taught skills such as carpentry, drawing, painting, crocheting, being an entrepreneur in various businesses, technology, etc… Anything she wanted to learn she figured it out for herself. A skill she passed on to her children, “Never wait on people to do things for you, figure it out.” Then you will never have to depend on anyone other than yourself.”

As a child, Danielle remembers her mother always sharing, helping others even when she needed it herself, always learning new things and her mother working hard to make it better for her two children.

As a child Micheal, remembers that his mother encouraged them to learn from everything you do and exposed them to written and actual experiences in so many things.

Christine moved to Hawaii with her husband, James”Jimmy” Robert Love Jr and continued to enjoy the natural elements God gave us. She lived among the mountains, oceans, forest, sky and the wind. She had many animals as pets (goats, pigs, dogs, horses, etc.. and enjoyed eating off the land all the vegetables and fruits God provided for man to enjoy.

In Hawaii she focused on holistic treatments for different illnesses, especially using diet and nutrition to heal the body. After receiving her cancer diagnosis she spent many years researching different approaches to fight the deadly disease that eventually took her life. She helped many along the way with the knowledge she gained.

She departed this earth on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
