Glistine Hicks

Glistine Hicks Moore was born on June 27, 1956, to the union of Albert Caines and Glisteen Warthen [May] in Sandersville, Georgia. Glistine, affectionately called Tina, received her formal education at Miami Springs High School. She furthered her education at Miami-Dade Community College where she excelled in Public Speaking and Debate. She became a City of Miami Police Officer for over 7 years before settling into the HealthCare Industry as a Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Counselor. Glistine accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and has served in various roles in ministry as a Deaconess in the House of God Church [Brownsville] and Pastoral Care and Outreach Ministries while at the Mount Olivette Baptist Church [Overtown]. Her love and gift of sewing made room for her. Glistine was known for sewing clothes, making hats, fascinators, masks and other items for family and friends near and far. She also had a tremendous love for plants and flowers of all types and kinds. She knew how to care for plants and would teach others how to do the same. Glistine was diagnosed with uterine cancer in June 2021, and boldly declared her healing through social media daily. Her daily inspirational posts served as encouragement for others who were also experiencing this challenge. Glistine never let this battle keep her down and continued to serve faithfully in her local church Unity on the Bay where her late husband was a minister. Her courageous battle with uterine cancer ended on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Glistine is rejoicing in heaven because she received her COMPLETE HEALING! Glistine is preceded in death by husband Aaron Moore, parents Albert Caines and Glisteen Warthen May. Glistine leaves her only child, son Johnie Hicks, III (Victoria), granddaughter Jia A. Hicks, siblings: Alvin Caines, Marcia A. Dean, Crawford May, and Beverly Robinson, uncle Julius Warthen [Sandersville, GA], and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members far and near.
