Ronald Delancy, Sr. Obituary

My Life, My Love, My Journey, and My Legacy

Ronald Delancy, Sr. AKA “Mouse” was born on March 13, 1952 to the late Joe Milton Delancy and Elizabeth Sands in Miami, FL.  He was one of 14 children. He attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary, Booker T. Washington Middle, and Miami Edison Sr. High School. He was a part of the Raiders High School State Championship football team. Ronald graduated from Miami Edison Sr. High Class of 1971. He then furthered his education at Colorado State and Miami Dade College where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree. Ronald later enrolled in the United States Military in the branch of Army.  Throughout his service career, he became a sergeant with an honorable discharge after 8 years. Ronald started a career with the City of Miami Beach where he retired after 26 1/2 years of service. Then he went back to work as a Dade County School Bus Driver where he retired after 14 years. Ronald loved traveling and his favorite sports team was the Miami Dolphins.

He was a great family man. When it came to providing and gathering with family and friends, if you needed anything Ronald could not tell you No.  He had a heart of gold.  Everyone was always happy when they knew Ronald was going to be in their presence.

On June 13, 199, Ronald held hands and married the “Love of His Life” Angela.  To this union three sons were born: Justin, Jason, and Dewitt and a bonus son who preceded him in death, Tony Fluker.

In 2017, Ronald began his fight with Dementia. He never gave up the fight. In 2021, his health began to decline. Ronald began preparing his family telling them how much he loved and appreciated them and their love.

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, Ronald was called home to water the garden where his rose was picked.  With his wife Angela and his brother Anthony by his side to hold his hand, Ronald peacefully transitioned into the open arms of God.

Ronald is preceded in death by:  his Mother Elizabeth Sands, Father Joe Milton Delancy, Sister Cynthia Williams,  Brothers Cecil Delancy and Harold Sands, Sons Ronald Delancy, Jr.  and Tony Fluker, Sr. and Godmother: Maude Bennerson.

Ronald Leaves to cherish his memories his loving, devoted, and dedicated Wife Angela Delancy, his Sons Justin (Erica), Jason (Melisa), Dewitt LAMONT Jones (Nycole), and Joseph Hudge; his loving Daughters: Tina Delancy, Rhonda Hudge (Travonn), and Latisha Hudge, 29 Grandchildren, Brothers: Phillip, Robert, Anthony K., Anthony S., and Edward (Lorinda)
