Marino Jimenez Obituary

Marino Jimenez of Hollywood, Florida was called home on Friday, November 5th, 2021 at the age of 69. On his final day, he was surrounded by his children and his siblings, who he adored more than anything else in the world.

Marino was born in Bonao, Dominican Republic to Nicolasina Frias and Thomas Ramon Jimenez. He was the third born child out of the 9 children his parents shared. From a very young age he began to explore his talents and worked in agriculture moving onto construction in his early twenties. Marino was simple and humble. He’d always say he was a handy-man though those who knew him would say he was more than that. And he was. He was a health & well-being aficionado that you would often find buried in health books and making natural homemade remedies. Marino dedicated his adult-hood to learning English, though he’d probably joke that he never quite got it. He was passionate about music. In his downtime he wrote music and taught himself how to play the guitar.

One of Marino’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. His children, Odalis and Odaliza, called their dad a superhero, and even as adults, still see him that way. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to him and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.

Marino is survived by his son, Odalis (Jasmin) of Reading, PA and daughter, Odaliza (Emill) Martinez of New Hartford, NY. He also leaves behind his loving siblings Teofilo, Margarita, Elvira, Dilenia and Domingo. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Bernarda Jimenez; brother, Cola Jimenez; brother, Siprian Jimenez; and son, Uriel Jimenez.

The world has lost a great father, brother, uncle, friend, and leader. Marino’s booming laughter and light-hearted character will be missed. He was a great father and genuine friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, can-do attitude, humbleness, work ethic, energy, contagious laughter and smile.

Visitation will be held at Eric S George Funeral Home on November 11th beginning at 5pm – 8pm. His daughter, Odaliza will be present to welcome loved ones and friends. A private service will be held in Dominican Republic where Marino will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be donated at their discretion would be appreciated.

I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
