Lois Goins Rhodes, the only child of the late Percy and Odessa Goins, was born June 21,1942 in Hallandale, Florida. She went home to be with the Lord November 2, 2022.
At an early age Lois accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. O. W. Foster. Later as an adult she faithfully served under the Leadership of Rev. Joe C. Johnson in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School registrar and Circle #4 Missionary Ministry Co-chairperson.
Lois received her Bachelor of Science from Florida A and M University and her Masters of Science from Northern Carolina University. She was employed by Broward County Public Schools and Broward Correction System as a Home Economics Teacher. When she was employed as an elementary teacher, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and she retired from Broward County Public Schools. Lois was a faithful, committed Christian. Living and trusting in the Lord. Lois overcame what many would have thought should have hampered her. However, with the Grace of God she became very active in the fight to cure Multiple Sclerosis.
Lois was united in Holy Matrimony to Edwin Rhodes (Sr). To this union they were blessed with a son, Edwin (Jr).
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted son, Edwin, Jr.; grandsons, Jakwon, Edwin, III and Timothy Rhodes; Sister, Lisa Livingston; God children, Timothy Mobley, Caryn Jefferson and Kalylan Willett; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
