Linda Cristina Folks Desuze Obituary

Linda Cristina Folks Desuze was born on September 19, 1949 in Colon, Panama to Muriem Ellenton and Juan Folks. Linda, a very proud, feisty and sexy Latina spent her early years in Panama City, Panama and later moved to Brooklyn, New York. She worked for New York City phone company for a number of years before retiring and moving to Miami, Florida. In Miami, she was a senior hairstylist at JCPenney hair salon and went on to teach at LIB Cosmetology School. Linda married Luis Desuze and they shared three children: Yahaira, Junior, and Shaherazade. Her children, whom she so often bragged about, were the highlight of her life. She loved her children dearly and unconditionally. Her children, who grew to be strong and reliable individuals, were Linda's strength until her life came to an end.

Linda, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Linda, an avid traveler, and a true warrior, never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Even during her final days in the mist of her pain, Linda made sure to provide guidance to her family encouraging them to forever be there for one another.

On May 7, 2023, after living a purposeful driven life, full of love and adventure Linda answered the call to take her eternal rest. Linda, our “MATRIARCH” and “QUEEN”, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, at the age of 73. For 7 years Linda fought the good fight  and in the end  kept her faith and picked up her “Crown of Righteousness”. Linda had a special love of God, her family, her Steve Harvey morning show, The Walking Dead, Jamie Foxx and the lottery. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished and celebrated in the lives of her family and friends. Linda was awesome. She has no idea how much she truly meant to so many people. Even on a bad day she wasn't negative, and always had a smile or a laugh to brighten the room. We are all lucky to have met her .

She will be deeply missed by her two girls: Yahaira and Shaherazade and her son Junior. Her grandchildren, Sahara, Avyanna, Nadja, Arymos, Pacyn, and Athena. Her six great-grandchildren, four sisters, Ofelia, Martha, Gloria, Rosita and one brother, Ricardo. A host of devoted and loving nieces  including Dializ, Jessica and Ashley to name a few, nephews, cousins’s, and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Muriem Ellenton and Juan Folks, as well as her brother Federico Folks.

Please leave the family a note of condolence, light a candle of remembrance or order a floral remembrance piece.

Be comforted by these words:

Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
